Are you a Hero?

The technical definition of hero is somebody who commits an act of remarkable bravery or who has shown great courage, strength of character, or another admirable quality. Such individuals whom by society are considered heroes are Police Officers, Fireman, man and women who serve our country in war and battle. Indeed, these individuals are heroes and deserve in every definition to wear that title. However, being a hero means more than just saving lives or fighting for the greater good. It is more than rescuing people from disasters. Being a hero in my definition is to over extend yourself to assist someone without any personal gain. It is to put your fear and worries to the side in order to allow your self the ability to help someone in danger. Man and woman, even children can be heroes. Doctors are heroes. It takes great skill, courage, and heart to save lives everyday, to bring life into the world and research more sophisticated ways of life. Preachers and teachers are heroes. To dedicate your life to teaching others is heroic in every term.

It is amazing at the most the capabilities we have to impact another life. There are people all around the world that needs heroes. There are people feet away from our door steps that need a hero. Though it may not sound like a lot; but, simply offering a hot meal to a homeless person or a warm blanket is heroic. Donating blood to a local blood blank is heroic. No telling how many lives you will be saving just by regularly donating blood.

Do you want to know what it feels like to be a hero? Find a local charity and donate $20.00 or if you can afford more, than donate more. I guarantee you will feel honorable. If you can not afford to donate money, donate belongings to a charity. Warm clothes, personal hygiene products, food and much more is always needed and welcomed. If we can not help each other in times of need, we are not living by the word of God. So many people are so wrapped up in their own lives that they do not stop and think about the less fortunate. Millions of women pay millions of dollars a year for breast implants, yet children around the world are starving and dying. We have to put aside material needs and contribute to the world.
